Based on Drives Architecture
HDD stands for hard disk drive, These are the most common types of drives that we use in the day to day use and system we have the HDD drives. They have average performance and have a great capacity. It have moving parts and available in verity of speed like 7.5k, 10k or 15k based on your requirement we can select one.
SSD stand for solid state drives. They don’t have any removing parts so they are able to deliver high read and write speed. Its a electric board with the storage board that can deliver high speed. If you are looking for a performance boost you can switch to SSD.
Based on the connector type
SATA stands for Serial Advanced Technology Attachment in which the data is transferred from the motherboard to hard drive using sequence. So its bit slow. We can use the SATA in normal computing.
SAS stands for Serial Attached SCSI. Its a great in performance and usually use in high performance and high availability application.
